Such a sha💩me

I was once a good servant of the corporate world where everything should be scheduled, in order, and placed accordingly. Now, just an insect going around with a hundred per day salary from a candy kiosk owned by my sister. Almost seven years of working as a Software Quality Tester in the field of Information Technology but now a good-for-nothing unemployed daughter of my mother living in a not-so-small town of Dasmariñas in Cavite. Yep, that's me.  I'm Casey but you can call me whatever you want. We would not see each other anyway for X and Y is difficult to find each other in the big world we're in.  I would not have regretted a bit of it, but I wish I had seen the consequences of entering a company that would significantly impact my life. Anyway, I love the seven years of working. Get to meet people, and engage in activities, projects, events, and commitments I had longed to have after schooling.  Subjectively speaking, I have lived uncommonly. I came from a bu...

My schedule consists of items that are impossible to complete in one day.

I currently do not have a full time job that pulls a 9 hours of shift plus 3 hours of preparation time from my day but this does not mean I am not indulging myself with activities that I would want to do. Have you ever felt that you are running out of time? That you are wasting so much of time, your youth, and opportunity to enhance yourself for the better? WELL, SO AM I. This is the reason I listed practical tasks that I should do everyday in order for my brain to keep on running.  Here is my list: Listen to Fr. Dave Concepcion Homily or Bro. Bo Sanchez Full tank series. Spend time reading or listening to the free book featured on Blinklist app Reading at least 10 pages per day Exercising with a minimum of 20 mins and max of 1hour Learning Python with Mosh Selling candies Aside from the daily task listed above, I also have a promise to make time to my writing twice a week. This is my way of proving to myself that even if I am not currently in the roll of earning  big m...

Chill chill with Halo-Halo!

When it comes to delicacies, Filipinos are very proud of our very own icy-full-of-fruits and crops mixed ingredients with sweet milk  in a cup called halo-halo. 'Halo-halo' is a flavorful sweet dessert that comes with different ingredients such as ripened bananas, ube ice cream, leche flan, garbanzos, gulaman, sago, macapuno, jackfruit, sweet potatoes, red or brown mung beans and of course shaved ice with milk, or sometimes the milk is frozen so as to replaced the original frozen water to enrich its taste. With the listed ingredients I gave to you, hesitancy of the foreign people to try this delight is almost not a surprise. However, since Philippines' tourism is always soaring, they are likely to indulge themselves and get a taste of what we serve. I'm pretty sure that many of them has a 'try a halo-halo' bulleted in the to-do list of their itinerary when coming here in our archipelagic country. It is not only an original recipe that is a product of the Filip...

Albert Einstein said it!

I remember getting anxious and problematic whenever I studied before an exam and did my project the night before its submission during my schooling days. It's a cliché but true to say 'learning new things is fun and experiencing life is a thrill'. However, this is not the case when the burden of complying with required activities, which needs extensive effort if I may add, rides on our shoulders. Why can't students listen to the educators all day then if the students feel to showcase their gained knowledge, it be by then the students will submit their work and then move on to the next lesson decided on the syllabus? They expect a final product will weigh and measure one's intellect. The Nobel-prized winner and the developer of the Theory of Relativity,  theoretical physicist   Albert Einstein, quoted: "Thinking is hard work, that's why a few people do it."  I could not agree more. I sometimes try to process how I am supposed to think about a concept...

Why do we have to do Retrospective meeting??!!

When I was working at a well-known bank in BGC, at the end of our product release sprint, my leads had scheduled a retrospective meeting. The first thing that came to my mind was the title of this article. Why? "It's for us to discuss what actions are made resulting for the project's success, what went wrong, and what can be done in the future for developments." This is what our Test lead told us. "An extra brainstorming activity" as we say.  Okay, I'll give you this fact, I'm too lazy to think about that stuff because I didn't think that it would affect me since I'm a contractor, and a few more days then I'm out of the team because my end of contract is near. Why should I make an effort? I don't want to attend either! But of course, I attended. It's only a Zoom meeting anyway. I have quite a lot of positive ones to say, a few on the negatives, and nothing on the suggestions (good thing it's not required to have one for each...

Law

Law is given not to suppress our freedom but to put order in our lives. Hopefully doing the law will make us a better person. We observe the law not because people is watching us, but because that is the right thing to do. - Fr. Dave Concepcion

Didn't know I have an interest at something

Have you heard the saying "a pen is mightier than the sword"? The Philippines celebrated the National Heroes Day yesterday (August 26, 2024) to which the people of today dedicate for the actual people who can really support the said quotation.       I am not one to say that writing is the kind of hobby that you will enjoy doing everyday. It takes too much of time, creative ideas to come up for a good article just so to make the people enjoy what they're reading, the elaboration of the single idea to convey what the writer really meant to deliver, and a spectrum of qualities to consider such as to justify the questions: is it worth my time? is it true? is there something I can learn from reading this? Writing is a tough nut to crack in all senses. This is probably the reason I purposely eradicated the idea that writing can give me something in the future. Even in simple ways like making me happy. Although I felt the people around me believed that I have ...
